NaBloPoMo 27/30: WDW Day 4.5

I'm making an early post today in an attempt to catch up! Today is our last day in Orlando, and we decided to start it with one last visit to the Magic Kingdom this morning. Our strategy this trip has been to spend 3-4 hours at the park at a time, and to focus on one area of the park. That's worked really well for us, and has allowed us to see and do things we would have missed otherwise.

Today we headed first to the Tomorrowland Speedway, since Carter wanted to drive one of the racecars one more time.

I even managed to get a video of him "driving". He would steer crazy and the car would jerk back and forth on its track.

After that we decided to go ride a few favorite rides before the lines got too long, so we headed over to Pirates of the Caribbean and then the Haunted Mansion. After the Haunted Mansion we did something else Carter's been asking to do: ride the steamboat.

He just loves this stuff!

We had lunch next, and then did something else we've never done before. We took a raft over to Tom Sawyer Island, which is an island in the middle of the park with lots of play areas. The raft ride alone was a highlight for Carter, but running around on the paths on the island was something he really loved!

He went back and forth across this floating bridge a dozen times.

Here's another view of the steamboat.

He ran around until he wore himself out, and we decided it was time to head back to the hotel. Tonight we're planning to go back to Epcot for the evening.

Here is another picture of some stuff from last night. The blue box is a chocolate frog I bought in Honeydukes in the Harry Potter-themed area of Islands of Adventure. In the middle is a souvenir beer mug from the Hogs Head. On the right is a mug we bought Carter in the Dr. Seuss-themed area. That's the first time I've ever seen something in a store with his name on it!

My plan is to try to make another post tonight to catch up. We'll see if that happens...
