NaBloPoMo 26/30: WDW Day 4

This one will be mostly pictures!

Here are a few from yesterday to start. We went to the Animal Kingdom Park in the morning. I love the Christmas tree they do there.

Here is Carter playing with two iphones while we're waiting for something. Yes, I got a lot of funny looks, but hey -- my kid remained happy the entire morning, and wasn't screaming and melting down. :-)

Carter1753

Here he is playing with a car while we were waiting to get into a place for lunch. There is definitely a lot of waiting involved in this amusement park thing.

This morning we went to the Magic Kingdom and focused in riding everything in Fantasyland. We rode every ride there, and it was fun! This is the only picture from an actual ride; Doug tried to get one of me and Carter riding Dumbo.

Carter1755

Carter got to meet Pooh and Tigger!

And then we spent some time playing in a Pooh-themed play area. This is inside Pooh's house.

These were drums.

It's a cute little play area!

After that we had lunch, rode the train, and then went back to the hotel for a nap -- for me and Carter. I'm getting used to this nap thing.

Carter ended up sleeping for three hours, and when he woke up we went to Universal Studios for the night. I really wanted to go back to the Harry Potter-themed park, and that was the main reason we went. We had dinner at the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade.

Carter1761

After dinner we decided to go ride a roller coaster called "The Flight of the Hippogriff". The height minimum for it was 36", so Carter was actually tall enough to ride it. I rode it last summer and knew it was a pretty fast little coaster, but we decided to put him on it and see what happened. He squealed all the way through the ride, and seemed to be a little freaked out at one point, but then he said he wanted to ride it again, and so we did. The second time he was really excited. It was his first real roller coaster! That was a big moment for me!

He was too small for the other rides, so we got some butterbeer:

Then hit Honeydukes for some sweets:

And admired the view of Hogwarts one more time before heading out.

Carter1762

Ah, fun! Carter got to try both pumpkin juice and butterbeer, and liked them both. I tried to take pictures of him in front of the Hogwarts Express, but they didn't turn out at all.

After Doug dragged me away from Hogsmeade, we headed down to the Dr. Seuss-themed area for the rest of the night. We rode a few rides and played on a playground, and then headed back to the hotel. Carter was very concerned that we hadn't ridden the parking tram this evening, and do we promised him many parking tram rides tomorrow.

It's interesting how he's really getting into the groove of this trip now. He knows how to wait in line, how to get on and off rides, and seems to understand that when the ride is over, we're done, and it's someone else's turn. The first day he didn't like getting off the rides, but by today he was hopping off and ready to go to the next one.

Tomorrow is our last day, and we're probably going to spend our morning at the Magic Kingdom. It's been a lot of fun so far, and I already dread it ending!
