November 22: Brazilian food (aka meat)

This post will be very pic-heavy, so my apologies to the folks who read it as an LJ feed. :-)

First, here is the cool travel high chair we got. It hooks onto any table, and I think we'll get a lot of use out of it over the holidays. Lucy had to try it out first, of course:

For people in my family: Doesn't Carter look like Grandpa Christian here?

Okay, now on to today's fun. We decided to go out to lunch to Estancia Churrascaria, a Brazilian restaurant I've wanted to go for a long time, and it was even more fun than I expected! You start with a "salad" bar, which has lots of beautiful veggies, and then they bring tray after tray of meat to your table. It's like dim sum, but with meat. :-D It was awesome, and as it turns out, a fantastic restaurant to take Carter to. He loves veggies, and there were tons for him to try, all cut into perfect easy-to-hold portions. He had cucumber, palm heart, asparagus, broccoli, sun-dried tomato, and bites of the yummy cheese bread they have there.

He really likes asparagus, I think because it's easy to hold and has a nice texture. When the meat came, he munched on pieces of beef, chicken, and lamb.

I gave him the bone from my lamb chop and he chewed on that for a long time.

But he eventually went back to the asparagus. It was pretty shredded by the end of the meal!

It was so much fun, and the food was amazing. It's a really nice restaurant and a little expensive, and people looked at us funny when we walked in carrying a baby. But he sat quietly and ate his food the entire time, and really seemed to be fascinated with the place.

It's so much fun to take him places right now. I'm sure that will change some time soon, but we're really trying to enjoy it!
