Fort Morgan, CO

We're in Colorado visiting Doug's parents this weekend. We had hoped it would be a lot cooler here than it is back in Texas, and unfortunately the highs have been in the 90s, after a week or so of highs in the 70s. But the humidity is lower and it's still cool enough to be able to hang out outside, and that means Carter has gotten a lot of outdoor playtime! We brought some toys and books, but he's had more fun carrying buckets and things around outside than with anything we brought!

Here are some pictures from our visit so far, starting with two pictures from our travel day. The first shows Carter eating a hot dog at the airport. They didn't have any high chairs or boosters, so he just sat in a regular chair, for the first time! He did just fine. :-)

He did great on the plane, as always. This was his 48th flight. He's so big now that he can sleep across both our laps!

Here are some pictures of him playing in his Grandpa and Grandma Smith's back yard. He loved splashing in this birdbath.

What a sweet little face!

Here he is with Grandpa and Grandma.

Playing with Daddy in the yard.

Here's a video of Carter and Daddy playing with a ball.

He played so hard he really crashed at naptime!

Doug's sister Cara drove down from Casper to surprise us! This was her first time meeting Carter.

Carter had fun playing in a splash pool in the afternoon when it was hot.

Here's a video of him playing in the pool.

He's had so much fun being outside! I'll try to post more in a day or two.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Looks like you are having a great time! Its funny how Carter looks exactly like Doug in some pictures and you in others. The one of him laughing in the pool reminds me of one of your baby pics. See you soon! D

Cute! Cute! He is growing so much and so fast. He definitely does not look like a baby anymore. He looks like a little boy now. I agree sometimes he looks just like you and sometimes he looks just like Doug. Looks like he is really enjoying being outside. Especially playing with the waterhose. I am so excited to see you guys over Labor Day. Looking forward to all the kids getting to play together.
Love You Guys.
