Home again

Our trip home was fairly uneventful. Carter slept on a good chunk of the flight from Greensboro to Dallas, but we still ended up entertaining him in cramped quarters for a while. It's amazing what you can do with a plastic cup, a paper napkin, and a foil package of peanuts. ;-)

When I got home from work today, Michelle said he had cried after I left, for the first time. With actual tears! I guess that object-permanence is starting to kick in. Until the last few days we could distract him from something by hiding it from him, but no longer. Now he knows it's still there out of sight and tries to get to it anyway. He's also gotten intensely curious about everything around him lately. He picks up and studies everything, and it's so much fun to watch!

I can see his two top teeth just below the gums now. If they come in like the bottoms did, they'll cut through in another week.
