Spit happens.

I had to take my car in to the dealership this morning for a scheduled service at 10:30. I'm getting better at timing leaving the house: I have to make sure Carter's just been fed, changed, and dressed, and that I've pumped within the hour. All of that can be a bit tricky if he's not cooperative.

I was actually nearly on time this morning, and was just snapping a freshly dressed and changed baby into the car seat when, "Bleeaah" -- major spit-uppage. All over his clean romper, the car seat straps, the car seat itself. And I couldn't help it -- I laughed. It was just funny somehow, that no matter how hard I try to get somewhere on time, it's really all dependent on the cooperation of this little baby. I looked at Carter to see he had a big open-mouthed grin on his face, as if he thought it was funny too.

The service was going to take all day, so the (BMW) dealership gave me a loaner car, an X3. Sooo much bigger than my little 330, LOL. I transferred the car seat over, which was a pain because I actually don't know how to get the seat out of the base. We never take the seat out of the base -- Carter gets carried in a sling everywhere (and really hates the car seat besides). So I had Carter in a sling and was trying to get this huge car seat plus base into an SUV, and NONE of those uber-helpful BMW guys came to help me!

I finally got it installed and got Carter in it, and what did he do? He spit up again. All over the new clean outfit I'd just put on him in the bathroom. And then he looked up at me and grinned, as if it was the funniest thing ever. So I laughed too. How could you not? ;-)

I've only read the most recent few of these, but I love reading about you and Carter. It's so neat to watch his personality developing through the moments that the two of you share.

That is too funny...My grandson has that problem (and he is almost a year old!) and you think they would be miserable after that, I would be, but they are so very happy it certainly is hard not to smile as well, even if it is all over everywhere.

I remember dressing Joni up to get her picture made at Belk. She had on the most beautiful pink dress and bonnet. I was waiting in a long line and as soon as it was my turn and I put her up on the table to get her picture made, she gagged and up it come....all over her dress, the table and me. Well I lost my spot, and had to take her to the restroom to clean her up and I got her picture made anyway with a wet spot on her dress....That's Motherhood...
