Nov 15: Playing in the living room; train ride

Since Carter's been sick for a few days, we haven't gotten out much. We've been playing in the living room and trying to keep poor Carter from going stir crazy. Saturday we decided to build a "tent" in the living room out of a sheet and some furniture. Carter thought this was fantastic, and we had a lot of fun playing in it.

One of the best things about Carter getting to this age is that we can play! I love imaginative play and love getting on the floor and being silly with him. I'm so looking forward to being able to do all sorts of things with him as he gets older, from building forts to doing arts and crafts to making music together.

This morning Carter seemed to be feeling a lot better, and wasn't wheezy or coughing at all. We decided it was time to get him out of the house, so we went up to Williamson County Park to ride the train. We told him as we left the house that we were going to ride a train, and he was really excited! He enjoyed it, as always.

After that we wandered around the park some. We went on a nature walk and found flowers and bugs, and even some dandelion puffs to blow and watch the seeds fly away. Carter liked that -- I'm not sure he's seen a dandelion puff before today. It was really fun to walk along with him and watch him explore. Children notice things our adult eyes miss.

He's wearing his favorite green boots there. He loves them!
